The package includes not only the video card itself, but also additional accessories. The set includes a power adapter with three 8-pin connectors, a small video card model, a stylish metal ruler with ROG engraving, a round magnet with a logo, and a branded USB drive with software.
The graphics card itself looks massive and impressive. It is equipped with three large fans with Axial-tech design, one of which has a chrome edging, highlighting it from the rest. The cooling system takes up a significant part of the design, providing effective heat dissipation.
The side view shows off a massive heatsink with dense aluminum fins that help dissipate heat efficiently. The top panel features the Republic of Gamers logo and illuminated GeForce RTX lettering, complementing the overall design of the device.
The back of the video card is made in a strict dark style with elements of the brand design. An additional fan is located here, designed to improve heat dissipation from the power components. Also visible are elements of the reinforced structure, which increase the rigidity of the board and prevent bending when installed in the system.
Video output connectors are represented by three DisplayPort ports and two HDMI, which allows you to connect several monitors simultaneously. The grill for hot air exhaust is made in the ASUS signature style, providing additional ventilation.
The bottom edge of the graphics card shows off the massive radiator and cooling system elements. You can see how the heat pipes run through the entire case, distributing heat evenly. This design helps ensure efficient cooling even during long gaming sessions.
On one of the side edges there is a switch between two operating modes – Performance Mode and Quiet Mode. This switch allows the user to choose between maximum performance or reduced noise level when the video card is running.
ARCHITECTURE |
NVIDIA has introduced the Blackwell architecture as a new technology standard for graphics processing units. This solution marks a significant leap in computer graphics and computing, offering an unrivaled combination of performance, power efficiency, and advanced technologies. Blackwell is designed to support modern gaming and professional workloads such as ray tracing, real-time rendering, and deep learning.
The key difference of the new architecture is a redesigned approach to processing graphic data. The new generation of streaming multiprocessors provides the highest throughput, which allows minimizing delays and accelerating work with highly loaded processes. New computing units optimized for neural shaders have become the basis for working with advanced graphic engines and artificial intelligence algorithms.
Blackwell is introducing the fifth generation of Tensor Cores, which have become significantly more efficient at performing machine learning tasks. They support formats such as FP4, which opens up new possibilities for processing large data sets. This is especially important for rendering complex scenes, generating textures, and improving the visual component in games.
The fourth-generation ray tracing cores deliver greater precision and performance when working with global illumination technology, allowing you to create scenes with the highest level of realism, where reflections, shadows, and refractions look as if they were captured on camera.
The GeForce RTX 5080 is a powerful graphics processor designed for professionals and gamers. The graphics card includes 10 CUDA cores, which allows it to handle the most resource-intensive tasks. The power consumption of the device is 752 W, which requires a power supply unit with a capacity of at least 360 W.
The graphics card comes with 16GB of GDDR7 memory with a bandwidth of up to 960GB/s. This provides incredible data transfer speeds, which is especially noticeable when working with games at 4K and 8K resolutions. The RTX 5080 also supports a clock speed of up to 2,62GHz in Boost mode, making it one of the fastest on the market.
The cooling technology has been completely redesigned to manage the increased power of the graphics processor. The use of new temperature controllers and an active cooling system allows you to maintain stable operation of the device even under extreme loads.
The GeForce RTX 5080 brings a host of innovative technologies to the industry that raise the bar for quality in computer graphics. One of the biggest advances is the introduction of DLSS 4, which significantly improves the visuals of games. The new version uses multi-frame generation to create additional frames, resulting in higher frame rates without significantly increasing the load on the GPU.
Reflex 2 technology minimizes input lag, making it ideal for competitive gaming. The new NVIDIA Encoder improves video recording and streaming quality, adding support for resolutions up to 8K.
The RTX 5080 also gains support for full real-time ray tracing rendering, allowing for more complex scenes that achieve realism through accurate simulation of lighting, shadows, and textures.
The graphics card is aimed not only at gamers, but also at content creators. The NVIDIA Studio platform provides advanced tools for video editing, 3D modeling, and graphic design. RTX 5080 opens up new possibilities for professionals working in the field of visualization and animation.
OPERATING MODES GPU Tweak III |
Three modes of operation of Asus ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 OC
Depending on the user's preferences, the video card supports several operating modes:
-
Default Mode
Under standard conditions, the frequency GPU Boost reaches 2760 MHz, and the Power Target is set to 100%. This mode is balanced between performance and power consumption.
-
Overclocking Mode (OC Mode)
This mode increases the power limit to 110% and raises the clock speed to 2780 MHz. This allows you to squeeze the maximum out of the GPU, allowing for higher operating frequencies.
-
Silent Mode
In Silent mode, the verlimit is reduced to 90%, and the frequency GPU Boost is 2740 MHz. This reduces power consumption and noise levels while maintaining high performance.
Additional features
- Temperature control – in various modes, operating temperatures remain at a comfortable level (from 30 to 32°C).
- 0dB Fan Technology – fans remain off at low load.
- Support 12VHPWR – stable power supply and overload protection.
Asus ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 OC is a powerful and flexible graphics card that can be adapted to various usage scenarios, from maximum overclocking to quiet operation with low power consumption.
