GAME

Haemimont Games and publisher THQ Nordic are pleased to present the highly anticipated game Jagged Alliance 3. It is the continuation of the cult series of real-time strategy games in which the player takes control of a squad of mercenaries in the chaotic fictional country of Grand Chien.

Jagged Alliance 3 plot

Grand Chien is in chaos after its president is kidnapped by a military group called the Legion. When all the forces of legislation and the law enforcement system were powerless, the president's family resorted to the last resource - they hired a detachment of elite mercenaries through the Adonis corporation. Now your task, as a player, is to lead this squad and return power to the rightful ruler.

Gameplay in Jagged Alliance 3

In the spirit of its predecessor, Jagged Alliance 2, the game offers the player the opportunity to control a squad of 40 unique mercenaries. In the game you will find characters familiar from the old games, such as Vicky Waters, Ivan Dolvich and Fidel Dahan, as well as new faces. Each of them has unique skills, biography and character, which brings an additional layer of strategy and realism to the game.

The main combat actions take place on a dynamic map, where the enemy can react to the player’s actions and send punitive squads to capture important sectors that you control. You will also be able to take part in side missions and unlock additional features using the intelligence you receive.

Jagged Alliance 3 also offers co-op multiplayer mode, allowing you to enjoy the game with your friends.

Development and History of Jagged Alliance 3

The development of Jagged Alliance 3 started back in 2004, when Strategy First and Game Factory Interactive announced the development of the game by the Russian company MiST Land South. However, the project was interrupted and MiST Land South eventually released its own project called JAZZ: Work for Hire in 2007.

In 2010, the rights to the Jagged Alliance brand were acquired by the German company bitComposer Games, which was bought by Nordic Games in 2015. And finally, on September 17, 2021, THQ Nordic announced the development of Jagged Alliance 3 by Haemimont Games.

The game is scheduled to be released on July 14, 2023. All fans of the series are looking forward to this date, because Jagged Alliance 3 promises to be a great return to the classic tactical strategy.

DIFFERENT QUALITY MODES

When moving from minimum graphics settings to maximum in Jagged Alliance 3, players will notice a noticeable improvement in the quality of rendering and detail of the game world.

Minimum graphics settings provide a basic but still impressive gaming experience, specifically optimized for low-end systems. Textures are generally lower resolution, and effects such as lighting and shadows are greatly simplified. Character and environment models may appear somewhat simplified, as details and polygons are typically reduced to improve performance.

Maximum graphics settings, on the contrary, provide the most visually rich and immersive experience, including a number of improvements that make the game world incredibly realistic. High-resolution textures add depth and detail to objects and environments. Dynamic lighting and shadows give scenes an unrivaled level of realism, while particle effects and sophisticated physics make interaction with the game world truly immersive.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of the test segment:

Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes 1920x1080, 2560x1440 и 3840x2160 with ultra graphics quality settings.

TEST GPU

In the video card test, the default resolution is 1920x1080, other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any video card positions. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (the most productive solution is selected by default). The test is carried out on the most productive in this game CPU and scales to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.

When resolved 1920x1080 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6600 or GeForce RTX 2060. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6600 or GeForce RTX 2060. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by solutions Radeon RX 6750 XTor GeForce RTX 3070.

When resolved 2560x1440 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6600 or GeForce RTX 2060. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6600 or GeForce RTX 2060. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by solutions Radeon RX 6800 or GeForce RTX 4070.

When resolved 3840x2160 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6800 or GeForce RTX 4060. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX 6800 or GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by solutions Radeon RX 7900 XTX or GeForce RTX 4080.

VIDEO MEMORY CONSUMPTION

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on the results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with various anti-aliasing settings. By default, the graph displays the most current solutions. Other video cards are added and removed from the chart at the request of the reader.

TEST CPU

Testing was carried out at a resolution of 1920x1080. In the processor test, you can remove or add any processor positions. You can also select any tested video card from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given processor test results (by default, the most productive solution from NVIDIA is selected). Testing takes place on the most powerful NVIDIA and AMD video cards and scales to low-end models.

When using video cards NVIDIA processors showed an acceptable indicator of at least 25 frames per second Ryzen 3 3100 or Core i 3 10100, and an FPS of at least 60 frames per second will be able to provide solutions at the level Ryzen 3 3100 or Core i 3 10100 .

With tracing enabled, the game can already load up to 12 threads. Uses 8 threads as efficiently as possible.

RAM TEST

The test was carried out on the basic configuration of Core i 9 13900K with 32 GB DDR5 6400 MHz pre-installed memory. All used RAM was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various video cards without launching third-party applications (browsers, etc.). In the graphics, you can add and remove any resolutions and video cards as desired.
