IfSunSets: Prologue - this is a free demo version of the game IfSunSets, which is an adventure RPG with survival elements. The development began with the ambitious goal of creating a unique experience that combines elements of survival, RPG and adventure game. The development team from the studio POLYMORPH aimed to offer players an exciting journey through the mysterious island of Luminor, where danger lurks at every turn. The main idea was for players to not only survive, but also explore, create and build, shaping their own story in this world.
The development process involved working closely with concept artists and 3D modelers to create realistic and varied locations, each conveying the atmosphere of an unknown and dangerous island. The team worked hard to recreate the island’s natural biomes, such as dense forests, rocky mountains, and sandy beaches, with each location having its own unique story and presenting players with different challenges. An important part of the development was creating a system in which every player action – be it gathering resources, building a shelter, or exploring – contributes to the overall world of the game, making it alive and changing.
During the work on IfSunSets Considerable attention was paid to player feedback and suggestions, which became available thanks to the release of the demo version. The demo version allowed to collect valuable feedback, which helped to improve many aspects of the game, including the difficulty balance, combat mechanics and interface. The developers took into account the wishes of the community to make the game more intuitive and interesting. The graphics of the game are aimed at creating a believable and at the same time slightly mystical atmosphere in which players can feel like part of a living world. The forests, mountains, beaches and caves of the island were carefully designed so that each zone had its own uniqueness and visual diversity. Particular attention was paid to the creation of vegetation that dynamically reacts to the player's actions, enhancing the effect of presence.
The use of modern lighting technology and high-quality textures helps create the feeling of a living and changing world. Natural effects such as changing weather conditions, day and night lighting add realism and require players to adapt to the constantly changing environment. For example, in rainy weather, visibility is reduced, making exploration more difficult, while on sunny days the world seems more welcoming and open for exploration. These visual changes play an important role in creating an atmosphere that keeps players on their toes.
Despite the use Unreal Engine 5, graphics IfSunSets does not always live up to the expectations that players have for projects on this engine. In some aspects, such as texture detailing and the quality of character models, the game may be inferior to other modern projects. At minimum graphics settings IfSunSets: Prologue offers good detail of the environment and characters, but with a lower degree of lighting and shadow effects.
