Hogwarts Legacy- comparative test of licensed and pirated versions

BASIC GAME INFORMATION

Not long ago, information appeared on all gaming portals that EMPRESS managed to completely remove Denuvo anti-piracy protection from the game Hogwarts Legacy.

HV

And the entire Internet was full of such posts that the pirated version Hogwarts Legacy much more productive than the licensed one! Well, we checked the testing and checked whether this is actually the case, or whether someone simply decided to hype the same thing... To test both versions, we used the same version of the game 1.0.1117238:

pyreten

This test is intended to show the inconsistency of the excuses that hacked versions of games work much better, justifying their pirated downloading. It is also worth noting that we are categorically against piracy, as we support legality, fairness and respect for the work of game copyright holders!

MSI Afterburner

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of the test segment

Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes of 1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 at ultra Graphics quality settings with ray tracing. We chose this mode because it is the most depressing in terms of game performance, so we’ll see if there is a vaunted increase from the pirated version...

CONCLUSION

Well, as we see, the miracle did not happen. If there are deviations in video cards in one direction or another, depending on the version of the game, then in terms of processor performance the pirated version is definitely worse than the licensed one. The ray tracing mode is already difficult for modern processors, but in the pirated version Hogwarts Legacy it is insignificant, but worse...

So in general we can say that the hacked version Hogwarts Legacy in most cases it has worse performance than the licensed one. The Denuvo defense was not taken out of the game, but bypassed with additional crutches. And don’t trust all the news where they claim a significant superiority in performance of the hacked version, justifying the download by a pirate!

This test is intended to show the inconsistency of the excuses that hacked versions of games work much better, justifying their pirated downloading. It is also worth noting that we are categorically against piracy, as we support legality, fairness and respect for the work of game copyright holders!

The game is quite heavy in the outdoors section. Here are my findings, on my newer system, if anyone's interested (non monetized channel).

If you are wondering which version it is, it's the good one!

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Yes, this is not a matter of version, but of the laziness of the developers. The graphics in the game are slightly above average, and the requirements are like 10 cyberpunks

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

there is no graphonia in cyberpunk. To see its absence, just turn off the miraculous blurring when it’s daytime in the game. and everything will fall into place.
in cyberpunk graphonium (when you look at it without soap) ala from the 2010s. Only soap works wonders in the game. and the brain itself completes in the imagination what is hidden from view by this soap.
During the day, graphonia in cyberpunk is quiet horror. but graphony (and in any games too) always looks nice when it’s night+rain+a bunch of lanterns. and not because it’s downright graphic. but because it looks interesting when it’s night+rain+lots of street lights.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Well, not 2010, but 2014. When PS4-level consoles appeared. And so in almost all games, turn off post-effects and they become very square. The exceptions are probably Rise of the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 7. And even then it’s a stretch.
Only in the latest games that were developed for new consoles (PS5, etc.), the detail has increased significantly. Requiem, Deathloop, Dead Space Remake. And cyberpunk and Hogwarts were sharpened for PS4. And only inflated psotefekts + RT somehow take them out.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

In my understanding, graphony does not mean how everything looks as a whole (because from crappy graphony you can build a wonderful visual as a whole, and vice versa from high-quality graphony you can make a crappy picture as a whole)
namely, the quality of the individual bricks from which the entire picture is created + the saturation of elements + the range of their drawing.
those. you come up and look at the brick, the flower, the pillar, the door, and so on. because graphonia is the quality of individual elements.
and they can be put together both wretchedly (ala cyberpunk in the fields during the day - hello 2010) and nicely in the city itself at night in the rain

Consoles are not omnipotent, so developers have to try and choose what to do better and what to cut.

all these guys who increase FP so that games don’t crash on 16 gigs of RAM play with an open browser in which instead of bookmarks (bookmarks don’t eat up RAM) there are 50 tabs that quickly eat up 6 gigs of RAM.
This is not the first time they have written to me: why close the browser? I play with the browser open... and it eats up about 6+ gigs of RAM with tabs. This is the reason for all the crashes.
the infinite passed without FP. nothing flew out.
GoW on 64 gigs of RAM won’t even think of crashing even with hellish leaks of 12+ gigs.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Up to 14 GB of video memory and up to 23 GB of RAM... All we have to do is wait for the first project, which will need 32 threads from the CPU, and without “rays” will not run at all.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

FP is only needed so that games and the browser do not crash when There is not enough operative space game or browser with hundreds of tabs. but at the same time you get more friezes when actively reading data from the FP.
when there is an abundance of RAM, it is better to nip this crap in the bud by setting the FP to off. nothing will fly out. FP Nafik didn’t give up on any program. everything works BETTER without FP.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

If only)) A lot of games and programs are designed for FP. Does Bioshock Infinite consume a lot of RAM? Somehow I also heard enough of smart people saying turn off the FP. Turned it off... but the system crashed!! But Bioshock Infinite started crashing every three minutes!! I never bothered with that kind of crap again. And how many howls there were that God of War had memory leaks. It just seems like everyone who was screaming was blind... in the game, in the settings below, it is written in RED font how much RAM and FP it needs for certain settings!!

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

don't really use the swap file
As for me, FP is pure 3lo for additional friezes in the game.
Essentially, it’s like inserting a fast RAM at a speed of 1 gigabyte per second for small files into one RAM slot... and inserting a slow SSD at a speed of 0,05 gigabytes per second into another RAM slot at a speed of XNUMX gigabytes per second (since the data is small) and so on play: the game pushes almost everything into the fast RAM as a priority... but it’s also not against pushing some data into the FP... so that when reading from the FP there will be more friezes in the game.
If there is a sufficient amount of RAM (32+giga), it is better to turn off this FP altogether. .. so that the data is only in the fast RAM and not in the slow FP on the SSD which is 20+ times slower than the RAM

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

I remembered. More precisely, in GoW, if there is a lack of RAM or FP, these numbers are painted red!!
The developers are apparently complete fools)) They wrote all this for themselves))

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

I'm sure it's not that bad. Everything is simpler - if there is not enough video memory, the game (any game!!) begins to actively dump the unavailable data into RAM.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Why did we test a bunch of video cards and new processors? The 4090 and a line of budget and older processors were enough.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

This is how the test proves that the Steam overlay was to blame for the FPS drop.

Personally, your fantasies and denuvo apologists. Have you tried to include logic at all? The Steam overlay puts a tremendous load on the CPU, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y_bab5wtHY
