Official description of the game

Description: Dragon Age: Origins is a fantasy RPG in a new setting, created by Bioware. Your adventures will take place in the kingdom of Ferelden. Explore blood-soaked battlefields, ancient forests and mighty cities. You'll confront the power of magic as you find an abandoned wizard's tower, then walk through the corridors of the dwarven kingdom. But be careful!

Dwarven politicians can be more dangerous than the worst monsters! This is just a real world, as real as ours, but only magic changes all layers of society. This is a world of magic! Explore this world following an interesting plot. The choice is yours what to do with the population: destroy people, influence the fate of villages, cities, regions! Create a party of unique individuals who can be your friends, loves or just allies.

The combat system is based on the tactical interaction of your party. In Dragon Age, you will discover hidden magic, fight terrible monsters and power-hungry nobles!

Features:
You are the master of your destiny. You decide for yourself who to quarrel with and who to be friends with. Both your own destiny and the events occurring in the world around you depend on this choice.
Prelude to adventure. Who the hero becomes in the game, where he begins his journey and what happens to him in the future depends on how you live the very first, initial episode, which serves as a prelude to the entire saga.
Unique battles. Featuring an innovative scalable combat system, you can take part in epic battles. Entire hordes of monsters and giant monsters will come against you, but by wisely using the unique abilities of your entire squad, you will be able to give your enemies a worthy rebuff!
Combined magic. Let your opponents stand in awe of your magic! In Dragon Age: Origins, you can combine different spells to unleash devastating magical powers on your enemies.
What does not kill you makes you stronger. Each new battle strengthens your fighters - they gain experience, master new spells and skills, acquire new talents and gain access to even more powerful weapons.

Review: Playability

We can describe all the delights of this game from many sides, tell how wonderful it is and much, much more. However, we will not do this.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-43-54-79

There are two reasons for this: first, the game is really very good in terms of gameplay and deserves special attention from players, and second, many resources got their hands on this game a month before its release and conducted thorough reviews. Our main focus, as always, is on the graphics and performance of modern graphics accelerators, so a lot of interesting things await us next...

Review: Game Graphics

To be honest, the game graphics didn’t impress me right away. Looking at the next incarnation of the Anrial engine, nothing good came to mind. But that was only the beginning.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-44-59-27

As soon as the game events began to develop, the game immediately acquired a certain charm and sympathy, and the graphics immediately seemed prettier and very modern. I was very pleased with the animation and movements of the characters - they really look solid. The development of the surrounding world was also a great success, but with some reservation - the vegetation, unlike everything else, does not look very colorful and creates memories of games of bygone years...

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_20-02-14-36

Some players will be outraged by the dynamic absence of day and night, but this is explained by the desire of the authors to immerse the player more in the virtual world - the time of day corresponds to the nature of the missions.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-48-19-51

We believe the developers would be able to make the game graphics even more sophisticated, but the start of development makes itself felt, and the game itself is able to show an ardent appetite for the internal filling in your PC...

Review: Resource-intensive game

In order to fully enjoy all the delights of a gaming processor and, accordingly, graphics, you really need a minimum Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM. But this is only enough with a stretch, and at some points in the game subsidence is possible. For a completely comfortable game, you need a two or four-core Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 processor and 3 gigabytes of memory.

During testing, we identified a pattern: with an abundance of many graphic effects such as multiple light sources, Nvidia video cards are faster, but by a small margin. And when there are a large number of game components on the game card, ATI video cards emerge as winners, and very significantly.

In the presence of multiple light sources, nvidia dominates. And the higher the resolution, the more caustic the leadership is - at a resolution of 1920x1080, the GTX 260 wins over the radeon 4890.

With an abundance of game models and textures, the championship goes to the “red”. With the increase in resolution, nvidia strengthens its position, but it never managed to take first place. Also, at a resolution of 1920x1080 on the 9800GT, playability becomes almost uncomfortable.

Even a not-so-advanced processor was able to overcome the barrier of 25 frames in-game, so gamers will have no reason to worry. The transition from two cores to four gives an increase, but it is so insignificant that buying a processor for this game is quite obvious.

Hack and predictor Aviator : The BioWare product turned out to be very solid. We don't insist that this is the RPG of the decade, but we highly recommend playing it. Especially for those who have quite modern hardware...
