Radeon RX 5600 XT
AMD began developing the Radeon RX 5600 XT as a response to competitors in the mid-range graphics card segment, such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060. The goal was to offer an effective solution for gamers who prefer gaming at 1080p resolution at high settings and high FPS.
Announcement and release date
AMD announced the Radeon RX 5600 XT at CES 2020 in January 2020 and was released on January 21, 2020.
Architecture
The Radeon RX 5600 XT is based on the RDNA architecture, the first generation of the Navi architecture, which replaced the previous GCN architecture. The GPU used in the RX 5600 XT is known as Navi 10 XLE, and is a stripped-down version of the Navi 10 GPU used in the Radeon RX 5700.
Features
The Radeon RX 5600 XT is equipped with 2304 stream processors, 144 texture units, and 64 ROPs. The graphics card uses 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 192-bit interface and a total bandwidth of 288 GB / s. The base clock speed of the RX 5600 XT is 1130 MHz, increasing to 1375 MHz in Boost mode. The TDP of the graphics card is 150 W.
Gaming performance
At launch, the Radeon RX 5600 XT delivered solid performance in 1080p gaming, typically outperforming the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and closely competing with the RTX 2060. In most modern games, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Gears 5, and ControlThe RX 5600 XT was able to achieve high FPS on ultra settings at 1080p. However, performance varied depending on game and driver optimizations.
