Radeon HD 5670
ATI Radeon HD 5670 is the world's first DirectX 11-compatible graphics accelerator in the “under $100” price category. The video chip is based on an advanced 40-nm process technology, includes 627 million transistors, 400 stream processors, 20 texture units, 8 rasterization operation units (ROPs), operates at a clock frequency of 775 MHz and has a computing power of 620 GFLOPS.

The detailed structure of the chip is shown in the figure below.

There are two versions of the accelerator - with 512 MB and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. The memory operates at a frequency of 1000 MHz (effective frequency is 4 GHz), and its bandwidth is 64 GB / s. From the interfaces in the photo of the reference sample we see D-Sub, DVI, HDMI. The typical level of power consumption of the new product is 61 W, and in idle mode it drops to 14 W.

Of the supported proprietary technologies, it is worth noting ATI Eyefinity, which allows you to organize multi-monitor configurations. The ATI Radeon HD 5670 offers the ability to simultaneously connect up to four monitors. Thanks to ATI Stream technology, when playing Flash videos in the Adobe Flash player, the load on the central processor is reduced by up to 50%, and video transcoding in CyberLink Espresso is also significantly accelerated.

Finally, we note that in February AMD plans to release several more new products - accelerators of the Radeon HD 5500 series, as well as Radeon HD 5400. Radeon HD 5500 Series solutions will be made in a low-profile form factor and are aimed at small format computers and HTPC systems. They will also support DirectX 11, ATI Eyefinity (up to three monitors) and have low power consumption - less than 50 W. One of the features of the Radeon HD 5450 is the possibility of producing solutions with passive cooling.
