Radeon HD 3450
Radeon HD 3450 replaced the Radeon HD 2400 Pro video cards. The main innovations of Radeon HD 34xx video cards are associated with the new RV620 chip, which is more economical due to the use of a 55 nm process technology and has support for the DirectX 10.1 API and the DisplayPort interface. The new products, as well as the video adapters they replaced, are positioned by the manufacturer as the most profitable solutions for HD video connoisseurs, without depriving the user of the opportunity to enjoy gaming applications from time to time.
Thanks to the audio controller integrated into the 3D chip, AMD Radeon HD 3450 cards support direct transmission of 5.1-channel sound in Dolby Digital and DTS formats via HDMI interface, which AMD recommends equipping them with. Secondly, the integrated UVD decoder provides hardware support for a full cycle of video decompression in MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 and VC-1 formats, without loading the processor with this work. And thirdly, these video cards have a low-profile design, which will not create inconvenience when installing the card in a tight HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer) case. In addition, due to the low operating temperature of the graphics chip, this card can be equipped with a passive cooling system, although the developers themselves recommend using an active cooler for these purposes.
