THE GRAFICAL PART

In this review, we present a test of the game Need for Speed ​​Unbound, tested on the GEFORCE GTX and RADEON RX families of video cards that do not support hardware ray tracing. Also in testing, already outdated CPU models are used up to the level of Core i9 9900K and Ryzen 7 2700X .

GAME ENGINE

Need for Speed ​​Unbound is based on Frostbite Engine 3.5. Frostbite Engine is a game engine developed by EA Digital Illusions CE; used both in their own developments and projects of other branches of Electronic Arts. The first game created using this engine was Battlefield: Bad Company in 2008. The engine was designed to replace the technically obsolete Refractor Engine technology used in the firm's previous games.

The maximum location size is limited to 32 × 32 kilometers of display area and 4 × 4 kilometers of play space.  

In addition, it is claimed that the maximum draw distance allows you to see the level up to the horizon. It also has its own sound engine, which does not require the use of specialized tools like EAX.

In the test of video cards, the default resolution is 1920x1080, other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. At a resolution of 1920x1080,   an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 1060 level . A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of  the Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 1060 level  A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by Radeon RX Vega 64 or GeForce GTX 1070 solutions .

At a resolution  of 2560x1440, an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 1060 level . A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX 580 or GeForce GTX 1060A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce GTX 1080 Ti solutions .

At a resolution  of 3840x2160, an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon RX Vega 56 or GeForce GTX 1070 level . A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of  the Radeon RX Vega 56 level or GeForce GTX 1080 .

VIDEO MEMORY CONSUMPTION

Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA at resolutions of  1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with various anti-aliasing settings were taken as the indicator. By default, the graph displays the most up-to-date solutions. Other graphics cards are added and removed from the chart at the reader's request.
