GAME ENGINE |
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 runs on its own engine. The engine was developed for use by Monolith Soft in games of its own development.
We were unable to find detailed information other than our own visual observations.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION |
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has version 1.0 of the program, perhaps with the release the game will receive a day one patch. When purchasing a game in a store Nintendo downloads it to a MicroSD card or internal memory.
The total size of the downloaded game is about 13 gigabytes.
CONTROL |
There are essentially no control settings in the game. We only have access to the standard mode, with the ability to invert the sticks.
The controls in the game itself are quite standard and do not raise any complaints.
SETTINGS |
But there are no graphics settings in the game, all that is available to us is the brightness setting.
Well, then let’s see how the game differs in portable and TV modes.
COMPARISON OF TV PORTABLE MODE |
In this review, we presented comparisons of the rendering quality of stationary and portable modes:
As we can see, switching to portable mode slightly reduces the screen resolution, but overall, the picture in both cases is quite good.
OVERALL GAMING IMPRESSION |
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a fairly stylized game, with very good graphics. The graphics in the game are quite nice and in some places awe-inspiring. In some places, on the contrary, it seems that the console can do a little more and not all system resources were used.
Also, most of the game is occupied by story videos created on the game engine itself. They are executed at a fairly high level and the entire gameplay feels like an incredibly beautiful anime fairy tale with a great narrative.
Overall the picture is quite good and the game plays great in both handheld and TV mode. I would also like to say that in portable mode it looks a little better, although our research shows that the picture looks better in TV mode.
GAME PROCESS |
Well, below are the first 15 minutes on the console itself:
Disadvantages:
- quite a high price tag and lack of Russian localization
Advantages:
- excellent work in TV and portable mode
- a magnificent fairy tale that is exclusive to Nintendo
