The gates of Hell are opening...
TECHNICAL INFORMATION |
Diablo III: Eternal Collection has software version 2.6.2. When you purchase a game from the Nintendo Store, it is downloaded to a microSD card or internal storage.
The total size of the downloaded game is about 18 gigabytes, which corresponds to the PC version.
GAME ENGINE |
The game engine is a product of Blizzard's own development. There is practically no information on the network about the structure and development of this engine. Most likely, the engine is a further development of a product line for games based on Blizzard's own intellectual property.
We have not been able to find detailed information other than our own visual observations.
CONTROL |
The control setting is standard, as for other consoles. Absolutely all buttons are involved.
It is convenient to play both in portable and TV mode.
SETTINGS |
There are no graphics settings, as such, in the game, only a change in gamma and brightness is available.
Well, then let's see how the game differs from the PC version.
MODES COMPARISON Nintendo Switch and PC |
Now let's compare with the PC version of the project. The "maximum" settings of the PC version and the console were taken as the basis.
As we can see, the maximum PC settings are comparable to the Nintendo Switch version. In the Nintendo Switch version, the camera is positioned closer for easy handheld play.
COMPARISON OF TV AND PORTABLE MODE |
In this review, we presented comparisons of rendering quality between stationary and portable modes:
As we can see, when switching to portable mode, the quality does not change at all and is at the same level.
OVERALL GAMING EXPERIENCE |
Diablo III: Eternal Collections on Nintendo Switch is on par with the graphics of older consoles and PC, making it one of the best ports for this handheld console. Of course, the game is 6 years old, but still, the work on porting to the portable version was excellent.
I thought, of course, what else can surprise us with Diablo III, previously studied up and down? In stationary mode, there is nothing to surprise - everything is already so familiar, but in portable mode, the game delivers completely different sensations, especially when lying on a comfortable sofa...
The interface is quite convenient and quickly gets used after using the PC version of the game. It's a bit unfortunate that you can't transfer all your characters and progress to the Nintendo Switch version, so be patient and spend many, many hours again in the game...
There were no special shortcomings, bugs and crashes.
GAME PROCESS |
Well, below are 20 minutes of the game on the console itself:
Flaws:
- price, like all games for Switch
Advantages:
- Diablo III in your pocket!
- the most magnificent experience from the game in handheld mode
- graphics from porting did not suffer at all
