Apex Legends is a battle royale game through Respawn's unique lens. Players will have eight Legends to choose from - colorful heroes with unique abilities and playstyles. The last surviving team of three Legends wins and takes all the glory. Among the Legends there are such extraordinary personalities as, for example, Bloodhound, a hunter who can track the recent activity of enemies on the map.

GAME ENGINE |
Apex Legends is based on the Titanfall Engine (modified Source). Source is a game engine developed by Valve Corporation and used by it to create its own computer games. It was first used in Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source, released in 2004.
Source is a game engine, therefore it contains a bunch of various components, including: a graphics engine, a physics engine, etc. One of the features of the engine is its character animation system, in particular, facial animation, which contains many tools for creating expressive facial expressions and accurately synchronizing the speech of actors with animation; The engine also features advanced gaming artificial intelligence, which can effectively control the player’s opponents or allies; the graphics engine was one of the first to use complex shader effects; In games on the engine, shader water was actively used, reflecting the surrounding world.
The physics engine is based on Havok. It allows you to calculate many physical objects, such as rigid bodies, flexible bodies, ropes, surfaces, etc. It is possible to create realistic vehicles, from cars to hovercrafts and helicopters. To calculate the behavior of a vehicle on the road or in the air, many parameters are used, for example, the adhesion of the wheels to the road, the weight of the car. To give realistic body movement, “rag doll” physics is used; pre-created animation can be mixed with real-time physics.
With the development of Source, it was added: HDR rendering, dynamic lighting and shading with the ability to self-shadow objects, soft shadows from objects (there is the ability to use traditional light maps), multi-core rendering for multi-core processors, and a developed particle system. In this game, the Source engine has been reworked. So, according to the technical director of the game, the Source engine has updated the rendering system, sound engine, scripting system, as well as the engine’s network code for a better connection.

Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes of 1920x1080, 2560x1600 and 3840x2160 at maximum graphics quality settings.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX video cards are provided by LLC Business Development Center.

In the video card test, the default resolution is 1920x1080; other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected).

When resolved 1920x1080 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon RX 460 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti level. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon R9 Fury X or GeForce GTX 970. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by solutions at the level of Radeon RX 480 or GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
When resolved 2560x1440 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the level Radeon R9 290 or GeForce GTX 970. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 1060. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be achieved by level solutions Radeon RX Vega 56 or GeForce GTX 1070 Ti.
When resolved 3840x2160 an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the level Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 980 Ti. Minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the level Radeon RX Vega 56 or GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be achieved by level solutions GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
VIDEO MEMORY CONSUMPTION |
Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on the results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 with different anti-aliasing settings.
