The Nintendo Switch 2 has two DLSS options, one for quality and one for performance.

intendo Switch 2 turned out the only major console with graphics from Nvidia, and this is what allows her to use DLSS technology to scale the image. Now it turns out that DLSS on Switch 2 comes in two versions., each of which is adapted to different operating scenarios, as confirmed by Digital Foundry's analysis.

First option, "full-fledged DLSS", similar to what is used on a PC. It uses CNN model and limited by resolution up to 1080p, but at the same time it gives out the clearest and most stable image, minimizes artifacts and handles motion and frame rate changes well. This mode provides better quality but requires more resources.

The second one is DLSS Light, designed specifically for Switch 2 and allowing for upscaling beyond 1080p, up to 4K in docking modeHowever, it does this with less load on the system - twice as cheap in terms of frame timeBut suffers when moving, disabling temporal reconstruction methods and creating noticeable distortions. The image looks great when static, but loses clarity with any movement.

Interestingly, the So far, no Nintendo game uses DLSS., and the main application of the technology is seen in third-party titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Street Fighter 6 and others. There is hope in the future that New DLSS model based on Transformers will also be coming to Switch 2, which could seriously change the picture in terms of performance and visual quality.
