Thermal Grizzly WireView PRO II: Monitoring and Protecting 16-Pin Power Connectors GPU

The exhibition Computex 2025 Thermal Grizzly Unveils WireView PRO II, an Updated Tool for Monitoring 16-Pin GPU Power Cables, including modern 12VHPWR and 12V-2×6. The new product is aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers concerned about the risks of overheating and uneven power supply in modern GPU.

Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II

The main visual difference is replacing a small OLED display with a larger LCD screen, which allows you to display more information in real time. In addition, a small fan is built into the case, which solves one of the main problems of the original model - heating of the device when used in systems with water cooling, where there is no air flow in the connector area.

WireView PRO II can measure current on each of the 16 power pins. This is especially important for monitoring the uniformity of the load between pins, since an unbalanced current supply can lead to overheating, connector melting, and even fire. Now users can see in advance which lines are carrying excess load.

But the main innovation is Built-in protection function with emergency power off capability. WireView PRO II can be connected to the PC power button via a special splitter, and if the device detects a critical anomaly - for example, an overload of one of the pins - it will immediately turn off the system. This can prevent damage to the video card or melting cables, which is especially important for RTX 4090/5090 and other energy-intensive GPU.

Although WireView PRO II is not yet available for sale, expected to be released in the coming months, its appearance is further confirmation that 12VHPWR standard still raises safety concerns, and such devices are becoming a must-have in the arsenal of serious users.
