SteamOS May Come to Desktop PCs
Company Valve may soon introduce SteamOS for desktop PCs. This was reported by insider @SadlyItsBradley, who stated that the release of the system is already “almost here.” According to leaks, the developers are preparing public release, which will allow users to switch from Windows to a new OS focused on games.
SteamOS has already demonstrated its efficiency on Steam deck, and now its capabilities can appear on desktops. The system has recently become available for Lenovo Legion Go S, which confirms Valve's plans to expand it. SteamOS offers a simple interface and optimized work with games without unnecessary processes, which distinguishes it from the demanding Windows 11
If the rumors are true, users will be able to install SteamOS instead Windows, providing maximum productivity in games. However, there are still questions about compatibility with programs and drivers, since SteamOS is a Linux distribution. There have been no official statements from Valve yet.
