Samsung to Unveil 7Gbps GDDR42.5 at ISSCC 2025
At the upcoming conference ISSCC 2025, which will take place in February, Samsung will share revolutionary developments in the field of graphics memory. The company is preparing to present GDDR7 at record speed 42.5 Gbps, which significantly exceeds current technologies.
The new GDDR7 memory will include modules with a capacity of 24 Gbps (3 GB), allowing for custom video memory configurations. This is reminiscent of the recent success DDR5, where such modules are already actively used in desktop systems.
To achieve such high speeds, Samsung uses advanced technologies, including three-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM3), which allows to increase the throughput by 25% compared to previous versions. In addition, power saving and read/write synchronization optimization have been improved.
