Ryzen 9000X(3D) vs 7000X(3D) at Same Clock Rate: Zen 5 Outperforms Zen 4 in Games
Site Computer Database conducted tests new processors AMD Ryzen on Zen 5 and Zen 4 architecture, comparing the performance of the Ryzen 9000X(3D) and 7000X(3D) models at the same frequency of 4,8 GHz. The results showed that Zen 5, equipped with 3D V-Cache, provides significant increase gaming performance compared to Zen 4.
In tests Ryzen 7 9800X3D with Zen 5 showed a 15% improvement in FPS compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on Zen 4, despite the same processor clock speed. This increase is due to the increased role of cache in the new Zen 5 architecture: 3D V-Cache greatly improves gaming efficiency, delivering better performance. Plus, Ryzen 7 9800X3D supports DDR5-5600 memory, which also gives a slight advantage over the DDR5-5200 used in the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
An important part of the testing was limiting all processors to 4,8 GHz and standard DDR5-5200 memory timing, which allowed us to obtain more objective data on the difference in architectures. As a result Ryzen 7 9800X3D beat the Ryzen 7 9700X on Zen 5 and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on Zen 4, showing a 43% increase over the Ryzen 7 7700X.
