Ryzen 7 9800X3D Burned Out a Month After Assembly – Reddit User Shares Failure

A new case has appeared on Reddit fire Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as a result of which not only the processor was damaged, but also socket AM5. User u/t0pli said that his PC, assembled less than a month ago, suddenly turned off, and later he discovered serious damage to the processor and socket.

The victim's system was switched on ASRock Nova X870E, processor Ryzen 7 9800X3D and one of the latest BIOS versions (3.16). According to the owner, he didn't overclock processor, but activated amd expo to overclock the memory. However, it is unlikely that overclocking the RAM could lead to such serious damage.
