NVIDIA RTX 4090 Discontinued: Prices Double

Flagship graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, introduced almost two years ago, has officially been discontinued. Amid anticipation of the launch of a new generation RTX 5090, RTX 4090 prices have skyrocketed, reaching almost double the recommended price.

According to major retailers like Newegg and Amazon, the RTX 4090 is almost out of stock. Newegg only has one model available: ASUS TUF Gaming behind 2700 USD, while other options cost upwards 3500 USDOn Amazon the minimum price is around 2500 USD, and many models are completely sold out.

In stores B&H Photo all RTX 4090 models are marked as "Discontinued" and BestBuy lists them as "Out of Stock", which confirms that the production of the graphics card was stopped in October-November, and the stock in the warehouses was running low.

A similar situation is observed in Europe and the UK, where the prices of the RTX 4090 have also increased significantly. Usually, before the launch of a new generation, cards from previous series are sold at a discount to make room in the market, but the flagship RTX 4090 model shows the opposite trend.

The decline in RTX 4090 production volumes began in the summer, and now NVIDIA and its partners are focused on the release of the new flagship - RTX 5090, which will become part of the line Blackwell.
