NVIDIA's website accidentally lists GeForce RTX 4040 Brick Edition - a $0 brick "video card"
The official website of NVIDIA has suddenly launched a product page called the GeForce RTX 4040 Brick Edition. Users have noticed that the image of the "video card" is a regular building brick, and the price was exactly $0.00. The page was briefly available on the US version NVIDIA official online store and has already been deleted.
The description allegedly indicated that the "Brick Edition" had 8 GB VRAM, but did not contain any data on the frequencies or characteristics of the graphics chip - because it simply does not exist. In the list next to real video cards, such as ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5060, this "brick" looked especially absurd.
Most likely it was inside joke or technical test, mistakenly published in the public domain. NVIDIA made no official comments, and the page was quickly removed. However, screenshots of the brick spread across social networks and forums, causing a wave of memes among users.
Phrase "Out of Stock" only increased the ironic effect, hinting at the difficulties with the supply of video cards, which have regularly bothered buyers over the past few years. Considering that the name Brick Edition may be associated with the card turning into a "brick" due to firmware, some considered this element to be an ironic Easter hint from the NVIDIA team.
