NVIDIA is preparing GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER with increased VRAM

Looks like the company NVIDIA plans to expand its GeForce RTX 50 series with new models RTX 5080 SUPER и RTX 5070 SUPER, as reported by forum users Chiphell. These video cards should get a significant boost video memory capacity, which will be one of the main differences from the standard versions.

RTX GeForce 5080 SUPER

According to preliminary data, RTX 5080 SUPER will be equipped 24 GB VRAM, RTX 5070 SUPER18 GB VRAM. Both cards will use advanced memory. GDDR7, likely with 3GB modules each, similar to the mobile RTX 5090 configurations. MSI has previously hinted at a 5080GB version of the RTX 24, which is now further confirmed.

In terms of performance, sources say the gains will be minor compared to current models. However, the increase in video memory is 50% compared to the original versions (16 GB for the 5080 and 12 GB for the 5070) will make the new cards attractive for memory-intensive tasks, including AI computing and work with high-quality 2K/4K content.

NVIDIA will need to ensure better availability of the RTX 50 SUPER at launch to avoid the shortage issues that the main lineup has faced. Pricing, in turn, could be complicated by global trade tariffs and rising component prices.

The official unveiling of the RTX 50 SUPER is expected to take place either at Computex 2025, or later, since "SUPER" updates usually occur a year after the main release.
