NVIDIA Delays RTX 50 Laptop Release – AI Chips Priority!
Company NVIDIA ran into delay in the release of mobile RTX 50 graphics cards. The release was originally expected in January, but now older models RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will go on sale only in March, RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 – in April.
The main reason for the shift in deadlines is related to NVIDIA's focus on AI chips, which led to a reallocation of resources and delays debugging new mobile video cards. Even despite the differences in server and consumer solutions, their production requires significant internal capacities, which could have affected the release dates.
In this case, RTX 50 laptop pre-orders start on February 25, but real availability will start only in March. It remains unclear for now, how big will the supply volume be - especially for RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, which will become the flagship solutions for gaming laptops in 2025.
RTX 50-series will be equipped with Intel Core processors Ultra 200HX and AMD Fire Range/Strix Point, which will make them some of the most powerful mobile solutions on the marketHowever, because of high demand and possible delays, prices can vary significantly exceed recommended.
