New AMD Radeon PRO V710 Graphics Card Targets Cloud Computing and AI
AMD Unveils New GPU Radeon PRO V710, which is created specifically for cloud services and computing in tasks related to AI and Machine Learning. This GPU will become part of the infrastructure Microsoft Azure, offering flexibility to use from 1/6 to full graphics card power, allowing users to efficiently allocate resources depending on the load.
New GPU Radeon PRO V710 based on architecture Navi 32, as well as the consumer model Radeon RX 7700 XT, but has a number of key differences, including 28 GB GDDR6 memory versus 12GB on the RX 7700 XT, plus improved memory bandwidth of up to 448 GB / s. The video card supports the ability to be used simultaneously by multiple virtual machines via technology R-IOV, which makes it convenient for corporate and server solutions.
One of the main advantages of the new product is the use AI accelerators, which optimize computing for artificial intelligence tasks, as well as integration with ROCM, making it an even more powerful tool for scientific and commercial developments. Passive cooling and a compact single-slot design add flexibility in installation and use of this model, but it is not intended for regular desktop PCs.
Comparison with Radeon RX 7700 XT shows that the new card is more energy efficient, consuming 158 W energy versus 245W for the RX 7700 XT, which is achieved by reducing the clock frequency to 2,0 GHz.
