MSI Enhances Ryzen 3D V-Cache Gaming Capabilities with 'X3D Gaming Mode'
MSI Introduces New Feature «X3D Gaming Mode», which provides a noticeable increase in gaming performance on processors with AMD 3D V-Cache. This feature is available for owners of MSI 800 series motherboards and is aimed at users looking to get the most out of their gaming systems.
Since the release AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D — one of the fastest gaming processors available today, motherboard manufacturers such as Gigabyte (AORUS) and ASUS, released BIOS updates with support for processors based on the new firmware AGESA 1.2.0.2a. Following them, MSI also announced its version of the BIOS update with X3D Gaming Mode, designed to improve the performance of Ryzen 3D V-Cache.
The X3D Gaming Mode function works similarly to solutions from other manufacturers. During operation, it disables one of the CCD chips or SMT, which allows you to focus resources on games. This mode is especially useful for dual-chip processors such as Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and the upcoming Ryzen 9 9950X3D, however MSI claims that and single chip processors, such as Ryzen 7 9800X3D, can also get a performance boost.
At the moment the function «X3D Gaming Mode» is available on three MSI motherboards: MEG X870E GODLIKE, MPG X870E Carbon Wi-Fi, and MAG X870 Tomahawk Wi-Fi. MSI plans to release BIOS updates for more models in the coming weeks so that users can improve the gaming capabilities of their Ryzen X3D processors.
