The information was revealed in his latest video podcast, which claims that an application called Steam Developer Beta, available only to employees and partners of the company.

Microsoft Store steam

According to the insider, this is not just a technical experiment, but part of Microsoft's strategic course to bring together Windows and Xbox, with the aim of integrating Steam as a full-fledged platform into the Xbox ecosystem. The company is already developing support for Steam within its system services, and the user will be able to launch Steam applications in the future console without workarounds and manual settings. This means that Steam could become natively accessible through Microsoft Store and Xbox UI.

The Steam integration fits logically into Microsoft's policy of The new Xbox will be closer to the PC than the classic console. The entire environment is developed around architecture. Windowsand Steam becomes its key component. This will allow Steam's vast library of games and features — including purchases, cloud saves, and mod support — to be used directly on Xbox. The new Xbox console is rumored to launch in 2027, in two versions: Xbox Series X successor and standalone portable device. Microsoft hopes to get to market ahead of Sony's PlayStation 6, bypassing the mid-cycle refresh stage like the PS5 Pro, which Microsoft has not responded to.
