Maxsun Terminator B850BKB WIFI - Mini-ITX board with rear PCIe 5.0 and atypical BTF design

Maxsun Company announced Terminator B850BKB WIFI motherboard, which will be presented at Computex 2025. This is a compact Mini-ITX board on AMD B850 chipset, with a unique layout and rear PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for video card, as well as one M.2 slot located on the back side.

Although the design evokes associations with the BTF (Back-To-Front) concept, Maxsun does not follow the standard completely — the main goal here is not to achieve impeccable aesthetics of the assembly, but to compactly place powerful components. On the front side of the board there are the usual power connectors, USB, SATA and front I/O, unlike most BTF boards, where everything is reversed.

Design feature - the presence of two PCIe slots, one of which is located on the top side and is designed for low-profile cards (for example, for a network or TV adapter). This approach expands the possibilities for installing additional devices even in the limited space of Mini-ITX cases.

The board itself has a built-in Wi-Fi module and judging by the images, aimed at compact build enthusiasts, ready for unusual design solutions. Given the high thermal and dimensional requirements of video cards, moving the x16 slot to the back can provide better ventilation and cleaner integration GPU with the system unit.

The official Maxsun website currently only lists the B850M WIFI model, without rear slots, so the full specifications of the B850BKB have not yet been revealed. The company is expected to demonstrate practical builds using the board at Computex 2025 - this is where its real benefits and differences from Mini-ITX competitors will be clear.
