Jensen Huang on RTX 5090 Price: Enthusiasts Choose the Best
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has addressed criticism of the cost of the new RTX 5090 GPU, saying that its price is $1999 is not a problem for real enthusiasts. In an interview after the presentation at CES 2025, he emphasized that users willing to pay for a flagship graphics card are looking for maximum productivity and do not want to compromise for the sake of saving.
According to Huang, the RTX 5090 is a device for those who invest thousands of dollars to build a high-end gaming PC. “Our enthusiasts will not settle for something slightly better or skimp on $100, choosing a cheaper model,” he noted.
The head of Nvidia also admitted that the RTX 5090 is not intended for the mass market and is aimed at an audience that is willing to pay for advanced technologies. The card offers support for the latest features such as DLSS 4.0 and Multi Frame Generation, which provide significant performance benefits. However, tests have shown that the power gains between the RTX 5090 and RTX 4090 remains relatively humble, unless new technologies are used.
Huang is convinced that the RTX 5090's top-end specs justify its price, especially for those who value the latest developments and are willing to pay for the best.
