Gigabyte Officially Unveiled the Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE – a Motherboard for Extreme Memory Overclocking
Gigabyte presented Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE, a specialized motherboard for memory overclocking, which helped enthusiasts achieve record frequency of 12 MT/s. Previously, overclockers such as HiCookie and Splav, used it to overcome the barrier 12 MT/s, but now Gigabyte is ready to offer this solution to the general public.
The board is equipped with LGA 1851 and supports Intel Core Ultra Series 2. The design includes 2 DIMM slots, located above the processor, which improves memory overclocking potential. Support is declared as standard DDR5-9500MT/s, but by adjusting the timings and voltage, you can achieve significantly top results.
For fast processor the board uses 18+1+2-phase VRM system with 110A Smart Power Stages. Also provided extreme overclocking features:
- Error display, power and reset buttons, dual BIOS
- CPU frequency adjustment buttons, liquid nitrogen cooling freeze protection
- EZ-Latch Plus – simplified removal of PCIe and M.2 without screwdrivers
In addition to powerful electronics, Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE equipped modern interfaces: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5GbE LAN, Thunderbolt 4 и four M.2 slots (including PCIe 5.0 x4).
The price and release date have not yet been announced, but Gigabyte promises release soon.
