GeForce RTX 5050 Coming in July - 2560 Cores, 8GB GDDR6 and GPU GB207
NVIDIA is preparing to introduce new GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, which will be the entry-level model in the Blackwell lineup. According to sources, The desktop version of the map has already been agreed upon with partners, and the launch is scheduled for July. GeForce RTX 5050 will be built on a chip GB207 and will receive 2560 CUDA cores — this is about a third less than the RTX 5060. The main focus is on reducing the price and power consumption, while the Blackwell architecture will be preserved. The memory capacity will be 8 GB GDDR6, and not GDDR7, as in the older models. This once again confirms the positioning of the card as an entry-level solution.
Preliminary information about the technical characteristics has already appeared, and the new data confirms it. However, none of the key specifications have changed. As a reminder, the RTX 5060 uses faster GDDR7 memory and has 3072 CUDA cores. Thus, the RTX 5050 will occupy a niche for 1080p gaming without or with minimal ray tracing.
If the launch takes place in July, the official announcement may be made as early as the end of June. The video card is aimed at the mass market, and with the right pricing policy, it can replace popular models like the RTX 3050 and GTX 1660.
