First Custom PS1 Motherboard Clone in 30 Years Launches on Kickstarter
Electronics enthusiast Lorenzio Brodesco Unveils nsOne, First Custom PS30 Board in 1 Years, created without Sony's participation. It is not an emulator, not an FPGA, and not a modern replica. nsOne is a fully functional replacement for the original board, fully compatible with original PlayStation 1 chips, including CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.
All Brodesco needed to work on the project was an old PS1 board, a scanner, sandpaper and service manuals. The development was based on the PU-23But parallel port was returned to nsOne, removed in later versions of the original. Thus, the board is a hybrid that never officially existed.
