In the interview HotHardware AMD Vice President David McAfee Talks About Key Development Aspects Ryze и Radeon. The company explained why the current generation of Ryzen does not have two crystals with 3D V-Cache, and also shared details about the demand for new RDNA 4 graphics cards.
According to McAfee, the dual 3D V-Cache theoretically possible, but due to the high cost and limited benefit for most tasks, AMD is still sticking to the concept of one stack and one regular crystal in Ryzen 9. However, the technology remains promising for future generations.
As for video cards, the start RDNA4 was "unprecedented." The Radeon RX 9070 XT and its junior models immediately became sales hits, but limited supply led to higher prices at retailers. AMD is increasing production of graphics chips Navi 48to normalize prices and cover high demand.
McAfee also confirmed that AMD did not refuse from the enthusiast segment and may introduce more powerful solutions in the future. However, the company is focused on the mass market, improving drivers and developing FSR4, which will allow Radeon to become even more competitive.
