AMD Preparing New Radeon RX 8000 Mobile Graphics Cards "RDNA 4"
New details about the line mobile video cards Radeon RX 8000 from AMD, built on the architecture RDNA4, revealed in a recent report from Golden Pig Upgrade PackThese GPUs are set to significantly boost the power of laptops in 2025, offering improved performance and power efficiency.
As it became known, AMD will present four models for the mobile segment:
- R25M-E6 (probably based on Navi 48) – 16 GB, 256-bit bus, TDP from 80 to 175 W;
- R25M-E4 (possibly also Navi 48) – 12 GB, 192-bit bus, TDP from 80 to 175 W;
- R25M-P6 (Navi 44) – 8 GB, 128-bit bus, TDP from 75 to 150 W;
- R25M-P4 (Navi 44) – 8 GB, 128-bit bus, TDP from 50 to 130 W.
These graphics cards will be aimed at different categories of users, ranging from advanced gaming laptops to entry-level models. More powerful models based on Navi 48 with a memory configuration of 16 and 12 GB will replace the existing Radeon RX 7900M and RX 7800M. In turn, Navi 44 is intended to replace the RX 7600M and RX 7600M XT.
The new video cards will most likely retain GDDR6 memory speeds of 18-20 Gbps, which has already become the standard for older AMD models. In addition, it is expected that at CES 2025 Desktop versions of the Radeon RX 8000 will be introduced, which may have similar specifications, but with higher TDP and clock speeds.
Interestingly, AMD is also preparing an update based on architecture RDNA 3 for more budget laptops. These graphics cards with the Navi 33 chip will retain the main characteristics of the previous generation, but will receive improvements in performance and energy efficiency.
