AMD is preparing new Ryzen and Radeon lines for 2025-2026
AMD has announced a broad roadmap for 2025-2026, including new Ryzen CPUs and Radeon GPUs. The information, published by the Golden Pig Upgrade Pack, covers the CPU and GPU lines AMD is preparing for mobile platforms, including APU refreshes and upcoming Radeon RX 8000The main lines include Krackan Point and Hawk Point for the mass segment, Strix Halo for premium devices, and Fire Range for enthusiasts.
Krackan Point APUs coming in first half of 2025, are designed for more affordable laptops, offering 8 cores and 16 threads in Zen 5 and Zen 5C configurations with integrated graphics RDNA3.5 and memory support LPDDR5X-8000These are inexpensive chips that are certified for AI support, making them an attractive option for entry-level laptops.
The Fire Range and Strix Halo are also coming to market in 2025. The Fire Range will be the next generation after the Dragon Range and will offer up to 16 cores with 3D V-Cache support, which will improve performance. The Strix Halo platform promises to be a premium solution with up to 40 RDNA 3.5 blocks and powerful memory support LPDDR5X-8000, making it suitable for gaming and workstations.
Interestingly, the Strix Halo graphics cores will be part of the Radeon 8000 family, but will be based on the architecture RDNA3.5, rather than RDNA 4, with several configurations including the 8060-unit Radeon 40S and the 8050-unit 32S.
In 2026, AMD plans to refresh the Strix Point and Krackan Point families with Ryzen AI 400 for even greater efficiency. New RDNA 4 Navi 4X graphics chips aimed at high-end laptops are also expected to hit the market, allowing AMD to compete in the thin gaming sector.
