New Adreno driver 31.0.121.0 improves gaming stability on Snapdragon X Elite
Qualcomm has released new graphics driver for Adreno GPU 31.0.121.0 versionoriented towards improved stability and performance on devices with Snapdragon X EliteWhile Adreno graphics aren't considered optimal for gaming, fresh updates demonstrate a willingness to improve the situation before the next generation is released - Adreno X2, which promises double power increase.
The new driver has been improved stability and quality in games like DIRT 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, valheim, Horizon Zero Dawn, as well as in popular projects like Fortnite, Dota 2 и Final Fantasy XVSome titles have seen performance gains, especially in Alien: Rogue Incursion и FortniteIn addition, the driver brings improvements to AutoCAD and Adobe Camera Raw, increasing stability when working with graphics and drawings.
Important updates also affected display support: added work with DisplayPort 1.1 HBR2, the EDID backup reading mechanism has been improved, and errors with pixel frequency and mode selection have been eliminated, making the display more stable and reliable. The driver also adds, for the first time, OpenCL extension cl_khr_external_semaphore_dx_fence, designed for developers using parallel computing.
This driver does not apply to future Snapdragon X2 Elite, which is expected to launch later. However, steps to improve Adreno GPU on the current generation they can become the beginning of a new era of driver support on ARM platforms for Windows.
