Lisuan Unveils China's First 6nm GPU G100 with True ArchitectureGPU
Chinese company Lisuan, founded in 2021 by former US engineers, announced the completion of the first stage of development of its G100 video chip, produced by 6nm process technology, presumably at capacity SMIC. It the first completely chinese GPU on 6nm node, built from the ground up and focused on DirectX 12 support, Vulkan 1.3 and OpenGL 4.6.
Development started in 2021 but was delayed due to financial and logistical difficultiesIn 2024, parent company Dongxin Semiconductor invested $ 27,7 million, which allowed the project to be brought to the stage risk testing: Lisuan has already received the first wafers, is debugging drivers and conducting measurements clock speeds, power consumption and chip yield.
G100 is based on architecture TrueGPU and is rumored to be comparable in performance to GeForce RTX 4060, although this data has not yet been confirmed. At the current stage, the company is conducting assessment of production risks, and the first engineering samples are expected in the third quarter of 2025Full-scale mass production could start in 2026 if there are no problems with masks, packaging or certification.
Lisuan admits that even with a successful hardware part, The key to success is driver maturity. The startup is focused on compatibility with game engines, computing APIs and stable operation under Windows and Linux. The G100 is positioned as the first stage of local development GPU- China platforms, in the fight for independence from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel.
