Intel Introduces XeSS2 with Frame Generation and Low Latency
Intel has officially announced XeSS2, a new version of its supersampling technology that now includes features frame generation и low latency (XeLL)This update puts XeSS on par with competing solutions such as NVIDIA DLSS3 and AMD FSR3.
Frame generation in XeSS2 is implemented through an interpolation method, allowing the GPU to predict the next frame using artificial intelligence. Thanks to this, the technology provides up to 3,9x performance boost in mode Ultra Performance and up to 2,8x on Quality preset at 1440p Ultra. This is especially true for high FPS games that require smooth images.
New feature Xe Low Latency (XeLL) Provides latency reduction up to 45%, making gameplay more responsive. XeLL integrates at the driver level, providing low-latency gaming, similar to NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2.
The list of the first 10 games with XeSS2 support includes:
- Assassin's Creed: Shadows
- Harry Potter Quidditch: Champions
- Robocop: Rogue City
- Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
- Dying Light 2: Stay Human
- F1 24
- Ascending
- Marvel Rivals
- Killing Floor III
- Citadels
XeSS2 now supports DirectX 11 and Vulkan API, which expands the compatibility of the technology with a larger number of games, including older projects. The update is also optimized for new battlemage GPU, such as Arc B580, providing significant performance gains.
Intel is finally achieving parity with its competitors by offering powerful solutions for mainstream gamers. XeSS2 is expected to be a key factor in the promotion of Battlemage graphics cards.
