Chinese assemblers sell unofficial RTX 5090 with turbine cooling
Photos of custom GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards in turbine-cooled cases, which are not officially released by NVIDIA, have appeared on the Chinese Internet. Judging by the photos, we are talking about unofficial processing of consumer graphics cards into server versions for the needs of artificial intelligence. The devices were spotted on the Chinese Goofish platform, where lots with dubious origins are often published.
The packaging says: "NVIDIA RTX 4090 24G AIB BLOWER", but the appearance and configuration of the card clearly point to a modified RTX 5090 with 32 GB of memory. These cards are adapted for turbine cooling and are also equipped with four DisplayPort connectors, which is not typical for professional models. Similar assemblies are produced by Chinese companies that buy up batches GPU, transplant crystals and memory to other PCBs and use a blower-type case for installation in server racks with a dense layout.
NVIDIA Doesn't Officially Release RTX 5090 With Turbine, however, a similar design is used in the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition server graphics card with a TDP of 300 W. In the case of redesigned cards, the TDP can be reduced to 450 W using 3x8-pin adapters, making them more accessible for AI farms.
Such modifications allow Chinese companies to save on purchasing official server solutions., bypassing sanctions and restrictions. However, this increases the risk of purchasing incomplete or faulty devices. There have already been cases where buyers have discovered missing GPU or memory.
