Apple M5 in iPad Pro and MacBook Pro: Performance and Frequency Comparison

Fresh Geekbench 6.5 results confirm that the 10-core chip Apple M5 shows different results depending on the device. iPad Pro M5 (iPad17,4) frequency CPU is 4.43 GHz, and single-threaded and multi-threaded performance reaches 4138 and 16366 points respectively.

At the same time, MacBook Pro M5 (Mac17,2) operates at a higher frequency 4.61 GHz and shows 4263 in ST и 17862 in MT, which gives the laptop a noticeable advantage. The architecture of both chips is identical: 4 productive and 6 energy-efficient cores, 6 MB L2 cache and the same instruction set.

Both devices use the same version of the chip, but the tablet operates with a softer temperature and power profile, while the laptop allows the M5 to reach its maximum frequency. This proves that Apple adapts the same chip to different form factors, offering a balance between power and autonomy.
