AMD Adds Radeon PRO W7900D Graphics Card Support to Linux Driver
AMD quietly introduced a new model of the Radeon PRO W7900D graphics card, which was discovered in the latest release of the Radeon Software for Linux driver 25.10.4. The release notes dated September 25, 2025 indicate that the driver Adds support for the Radeon PRO W7900D, which was the first official mention of this SKU.
Up to this point, the series featured two models: Radeon PRO W7900 и W7900 Dual Slot, both are built on Navi 31 chip, contain 6144 stream processors and equipped 48 GB GDDR6 memoryThe Dual Slot model featured a more compact cooling system and was released later at a reduced price.
The W7900D model is not yet available on AMD's official website., including the Chinese version, where it is assumed it could have been introduced first. The letter "D" in the title suggests an analogy with NVIDIA series RTX 4090D/5090D, released specifically for the Chinese market. Although rumors of regional variants from AMD have been circulating for a long time, there has been no official confirmation yet.
