GeForce GT 7950

An upgraded NVIDIA video card in the upper price range – GeForce 7950GT. The Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT video adapter was announced simultaneously with the GeForce 7900 GS, but if the latter was aimed at the market for mass solutions costing 9, the former was a higher-end product belonging to the price niche 9.

Nvidia's vision for the GeForce 7950 GT was to re-establish the company's leadership in the 9-9 space. It didn't take much effort to create, as Nvidia had long had the simple, low-cost G71 graphics processor and a similarly capable printed circuit board. Clock speeds GPU and the GeForce 7950 GT memory were increased without much effort to 550 MHz, and the video memory was doubled to 512 MB.

In fact, with the exception of the video memory frequency (1400 MHz versus 1700 MHz), the capabilities of the GeForce 7950 GT were identical to the capabilities of the GeForce 7800 GTX 512, a top-class video adapter that at one time claimed to be the absolute leader among Premium graphics cards, but due to low production volumes it was extremely a rare and dear guest on store shelves.

Since the G71 had unsurpassed qualities in terms of power consumption, increasing frequencies did not require any changes in the design of the video adapter. The new product, like the GeForce 7900 GS, has become another variation on the GeForce 7900 GT theme.
