Enabling ReBAR reduced performance in The Last of Us Part II Remastered — Nixxes Releases Hotfix
Studio Nixxes has released a hotfix for PC version The Last of Us Part II Remastered, eliminating critical performance problem on video cards NVIDIAThe update is only 8 MB in size, but its impact has been significant.
The reason was the incorrect behavior of the ReBAR (Resizable BAR) technology, which instead of increasing speed, vice versa, caused noticeable FPS drops. The problem only appeared when ReBAR was active, and its elimination is already bringing results - users confirm an increase in stability and the disappearance of "freezes".
It is important that the error did not affect all systems - some players previously manually disabled ReBAR via BIOS, but this did not always improve the situation. Now the patch disables the ReBAR effect directly in the game code, without requiring user intervention.
In addition, Nixxes also eliminated errors with autosaves, which occurred when synchronizing the Documents folder with OneDrive and other cloud services. This helped stabilize the saves and reduce the risk of data loss.
The hotfix is now available for download on Steam and Epic Games Store. The game version after the update is 1.1.10410.0945.
