Stellar Blade 2 in development - release in 2027

Following the successful launch of the PC version Stellar Blade, Studio Shift Up Confirms Work on Sequel BeginsCEO Kim Hyun-tae told Korean media that the project was originally conceived as a DLC, but as it grew in scale, it evolved into a full-fledged game.

According to Kim, the development is currently in progress. research and concept development stages, with an emphasis on next-generation technologies. The creators intend to eliminate the limitations encountered when creating the first part — including shortened cutscenes and secondary storylines. The second part promises a more complex and philosophical plot, beyond the topic of AI and humanity.

The developers admitted that Stellar Blade's success on PC exceeded their expectations, and expressed gratitude to the players. The team will actively take into account community feedback and will continue to support modding, with the proviso that the balance and mechanics are not violated. The release of Stellar Blade 2 is expected not earlier than 2027 of the year, but Shift Up is already positioning the game as an important step in the development of the Korean industry on the world stage.
