Pillars of Eternity receives an update with DirectX 11 and a new version of the Unity engine

Pillars of Eternity is still remembered to this day, and Obsidian Entertainment decided to please fans with a new update. At the beginning of 2024, the developers released a major patch in public beta format, and by mid-summer it reached full release.

Pillars of Eternity recently released update 1.3.7.1377, which includes important changes. The main ones:

  • Engine update to Unity 2019.4.11.
  • Transition to DirectX 11 graphics.
  • Fixed issues with Kickstarter backer rewards not being displayed or unlocked correctly.
  • Improved character navigation in several scenes.
  • Fixed bugs where NPCs would get stuck or move in place during cutscenes.
  • Fixed issues with collisions between doors that could be passed through.
  • Fixed a bug where characters could take a T-pose at the beginning of cutscenes.
  • Fixed cases of multiple voice lines playing simultaneously when trying to open locked containers.
  • Improvements have been made to the work of quests and dialogues, including combat mechanics and interface.

This update makes the game even more stable and improves the overall gaming experience.
