DOOM: The Dark Ages Patch 1.003 Out Now — Fixes, Crashes, and Unresolved Trophy Issues

On all platforms - PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S — DOOM: The Dark Ages Patch 1.003 Now Available, which takes up less than 500 MB. Although there are no official details from Bethesda, the update includes stability fixes and crash fixes, however, a number of key issues are still not resolved, including the platinum trophy bug.

Doom Dark Ages 16

As players have noted, especially on Reddit, the bug with the achievement "Berserker" remains relevant: Despite fulfilling all the requirements and showing progress in the game, the trophy still won't unlock. One user, Outrageous-Basis-182, confirmed that even after updating and restarting the game, the trophy remains inaccessible. This blocks many players from getting the platinum after completing the game 100%.

New complaints have also emerged: The update has worsened compatibility with Linux. Although there was never any official support for this OS, the game was previously launched via third-party solutions. Now, as reported by user d3vilguard, Denuvo protection analysis blocks launch even on those configurations where everything worked before.

Bethesda listed and official known issues on both platforms. On consoles, these are problems with loading cloud saves and transferring data between profiles. On PC, crashes related to Frame Generation on RTX 50-series, G-Sync/V-Sync, OBS, dual monitors and RivaTuner. In addition, the game may freeze when changing the resolution or using Alt+Tab.

Patch 1.003 includes:

  • Fixed crashes when launching new maps

  • Fixed crashes when loading late campaign saves

  • Fixed stability issues when using Shield Saw

The game remains available on all current platforms. However, judging by the reaction of users, Bethesda has more than one update to release, before DOOM: The Dark Ages becomes a truly stable and bug-free release.
