Orcs in Gothic Remake will become more "human": new quests and deep interactions
Gothic Remake continues to arouse interest among fans of the classic role-playing game. In a recent interview with GRYOnline.pl, the head of the studio Alkimia Interactive Reinhard Pollice told what changes await fans in the updated version of the cult game.
The remake has proven challenging. According to Pollice, it's important to strike a balance between being faithful to the original and attracting a new audience. The main storyline will remain intact, but the "illogical and unpolished" aspects of the original 2001 game have been reworked.
One of the major changes will be a deeper exploration of the orcs. In the original, they were mostly enemies, but in the remake, their culture and society will receive more attention. As Pollice noted, in Gothic Remake The player will be able to earn the respect of the orcs and learn more about their traditions and history through special quests. Although it will be impossible to join their faction, interactions with them will become more varied.
"We will add more light to the orcs not only in terms of how they are shown, but also what actions are possible with them. Gothic all has always offered freedom of choice, and this will also affect the relationship with the orcs," Pollice noted.
In addition, the developers paid attention to detailing the characters, factions and mechanics of the game. Among the updates, we can note the improved crafting, possibility rock climbing, as well as an expansion of the bestiary.
Despite many interesting details, the release date of Gothic Remake remains unknown. The game is scheduled for 2025 year, but the developers have not yet named the exact release time. Gothic Remake will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
