Mortal Kombat 1 launches without long-awaited crossplay
Mortal Kombat 1, an ambitious fighting game from WB Games and NetherRealm Studios, is set to launch on September 19 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Fans awaiting the release of the Premium Edition will receive exclusive early access on September 14th.
However, recent updates regarding the game have caused mixed reactions among the community. Initially, when announcing the game, the developers mentioned cross-play support. But later information about this function was removed from the official website. This could indicate possible technical difficulties faced by the studios.
WB Games and NetherRealm Studios have confirmed that cross-play will indeed not be available at launch. However, they also assured players that they are actively working on this feature and plan to release an update after release.
