Lossless Scaling 3.2: x2 frame generation almost on par with DLSS 4

Lossless Scaling has been updated to version 3.2, introducing an improved mode x2 Frame Generation. The new implementation has made it possible to achieve image quality and latency comparable to NVIDIA DLSS-4, even in games without official frame generation support.

The test was Cyberpunk 2077, where is the new regime x2 showed latency almost at the level of DLSS 4 Frame GenerationThe difference in visual perception is minimal, artifacts are barely noticeable. The x3 and x4 modes are still lagging behind in terms of clarity, but are also evolving. Alternative NVIDIA solutions also took part in the tests: smooth motion и Multi Frame Generation.

Interestingly, LS 3.2 won against NVIDIA Smooth Motion. Although Smooth Motion provided slightly less latency, Lossless Scaling produced better quality images, especially when scaling moving objects. Thus, LS is becoming a real alternative to DLSS 4 on video cards RTX 20 and 30 series, which do not support Frame Generation officially.
