The situation was of interest because Langdon had previously announced DMC 5 long before it was officially confirmed. Now fans believe that history could repeat itself. Considering that Devil May Cry 5 was released back in 2019 (and its extended edition in 2020), the timing is quite consistent with the development cycle of a major game from Capcom.

An additional factor confirming the interest in the franchise was the recent anime series from Netflix, where the main character Dante is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch — the actor who previously played Nero. This may be part of Capcom's strategy to reactivation of interest in DMC before the release of the new part.

Capcom has not officially commented on Langdon's words, but given the series' regular successes and the demand for slashers, the likelihood of Devil May Cry 6 being developed seems high. Especially since voice actors are often brought in early on, especially in games where the stage and martial movement.
