Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Gets Greenlit, Will Have New Story Set in the World Cyberpunk 2077

Anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will officially get a sequel. As reported in a fresh post on the project's official page, the second season is already in production. It will be a separate story of 10 episodes, not directly related to the plot of the first season, but still based on the world Cyberpunk 2077.

The project is positioned as "a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge", which will center on a new character. According to the authors, the main theme is the question of what extremes a person must go through for his story to matter in a world blinded by spectacle. So far, the exact release date has not been announced, but work is underway. The studio is once again working on production trigger, and the key art poster was made by the artist Ichigo Kanno.

CD Projekt studio previously claimed that edgerunners - a one-time project, but the success of the first season and its impact on sales Cyberpunk 2077 convinced the management of the franchise's potential. Let's recall that the first season won the Crunchyroll Awards and became one of the highest-rated anime of 2022.
