Battlefield Labs: Leak Shows Snowy, Deserted Capstone and Tungsten Maps
According to a new leak, in the upcoming part Battlefield players will find a variety of cards, covering extreme climates from snow-capped mountains to desert plains. The images, posted on Reddit, are believed to be from current builds of Battlefield Labs, the game's internal test client.
The images show two maps. One is a snowy, high-altitude landscape with steep cliffs and snow-covered trails — users speculate it is called capstone. Another map is deserted, with many trenches and engineering structures similar to the Turkmen steppes. Its preliminary name, according to fans, is Tungsten.
The community reacted positively to the leak, noting the desire to return to a more tactical style of combat, with an emphasis on verticality and destruction. Fans are drawing parallels with Battlefield 4 and Bad Company 2, hoping for a revival of iconic mechanics such as realistic destructibility objects and advanced combat physics.
While EA and DICE have yet to officially comment on the origins of the images, insiders claim that the locations shown will be part of the starting set of maps for the new Battlefield. The project still hasn't received a name, but audience expectations are growing, especially amid rumors of a possible return of the brand Bad Company. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
